Community spirit shines in ‘Light-up Hassocks’ event
Thousands of people enjoyed last Friday’s ‘Light-up Hassocks’ festival when the Christmas lights were switched on and Keymer Road was turned into a winter-wonderland.
In an evening of family fun, children paraded down the traffic free high street, carrying brightly coloured lanterns.
There were food and craft stalls, with traders offering warming mulled wine, mince pies and hot dogs.

Hide AdFather Christmas was invited by Burgess Hill District Lions Club to drop in to meet the children and a live nativity scene and carol singing reminded revellers of the true meaning of Christmas.
