Darth Vader invades Downlands’ summer fayre
Darth Vader failed to scare visitors away from Downlands’ summer fayre and fun-run on Saturday.
He arrived at the community school with his stormtroopers but was game for a laugh and posed for pictures with youngsters.
A fun-filled afternoon began with the ‘Downlands Dash’ over five miles and a junior one-mile run.

Teachers were put in ‘the stocks’ for a pelting, and the head of Maths, Steve Catt even managed a smile among his winces and groans.
