A fancy dress competition, face painting and pumpkin carving were among the attractions at the Children In Need Halloween Party in Horsham today (Thursday October 30).

The event, organised by Horsham Rotary in conjunction with Horsham District Council, saw children’s TV star Dave Benson-Phillips entertaining the audience - as shown in the video above.

Free entertainment was available to children of all ages in the Carfax between 10am and 4pm.

Highlights planned included a children’s Halloween activity zone sponsored by Gascoigne-Pees, DoStuff Bus pumpkin carving workshops sponsored by Santander, bandstand storytelling with Horsham Library and Daisy White’s Booktique, street entertainments, a pumpkin carving competition with prizes provided by The Capitol, Toy Barnhaus, Sainsbury’s, Subway and ShakeAway, a Halloween themed Thursday market, plus the Rotary Club of Horsham organised ‘Trick or Treat’ trails around the town and a Halloween fancy dress competition.

Horsham’s Non-Stop Party Shop dressed the bandstand in ‘Spooky Style’ with items available in-store.

Pudsey Bear also visited the town centre with Horsham Rotary.
