“As a result, the decision has been taken to postpone the first major event, the Seafront Soapbox Race, which will now take place towards the end of the events season on Sunday, September 20.
“The planned Easter opening event for the Seafront Skatepark will also take place at a later date, to be decided.
“All Soapbox entrants will be informed within the next few days of the planned change. Organisers continue to closely monitor the UK government and Public Health England advice and work continues on all other events that are scheduled to take place.
“Many accommodation providers and tourism businesses in Eastbourne are still very much open for business and continue to take bookings for the season.”
