Shoreham school closed after ‘significant number’ of staff Covid-19 cases

Shoreham Academy head teacher Jim Coupe wrote to parents yesterday (December 13) asking all students to work from home today.
Mr Coupe said the school had been notified of ‘a significant number of positive cases’ over the weekend and was working through test and trace processes.

Hide AdWork will be set for students to work from home, the letter said, but parents unable to care for their children had the option of sending them in to work in year group bubbles.
“We have not taken this decision lightly and have made it with safety of all of our school community in mind,” said Mr Coupe.
“We will update parents, carers and students tomorrow in regard to plans for Tuesday and Wednesday.”
