Broadwater bank set to close
Lloyds Bank released a statement this week that the branch, in Broadwater Street West, will close in April, 2016, with a ten per cent fall in customer usage over the last year to blame.
A spokesman for the bank said: “In the case of Broadwater, we have another branch close by that allows us to serve the local area.
“The lease on the branch is also expiring.”

The spokesman added: “During our review process we have also taken into consideration the location of the local post office, which is within walking distance. At Broadwater, only 36 customers each – personal and business – use the branch on a regular weekly basis. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and are informing customers of the closest alternative branch in each location.”
The bank also stated that 91 per cent of customers at the branch already used additional branches.
