Crowds enjoy a taste of the countryside at Alexandra Park

The sun shone on both days as the packed Fair provided all day family entertainment which included the Dog and Duck Show, 1066 Reptile Display Team, birds of prey flying displays, terrier racing and children’s entertainer Mario Magic.
Another popular attraction was The Goat Show where people could bottle feed lambs and kids as well as children’s petting pens.

Hide AdOther attractions included an historical re-enactment and demonstrations of rural skills.
There were arts, crafts food drink and gifts marquees as well as outside trade stands and a licensed bar.
A Companion Dog Show on Sunday proved to be a great success with lots of local owners bringing along their pets to put them through their paces. All proceeds from dog show entries went to the Marie Curie Care charity who were also collecting at the event for their Daffodil Appeal.
Local majorettes put on an impressive display and people were able to meet and chat to local police officers and community support officers who had an information stand.

Hide AdVisitors were able to sample a wide range of local produce at the Fair and try their hand at a number of rural skills, including blacksmithing.
The Town and Country Fair is now in its eighth year after being revived by Oakleigh Fairs, who have wide experience of organising a variety of fairs and other events across the country.
