Nature Trails by Richard Williamson
Gulls are a survivors. Go to any rubbish tip in the world: Chichester, New York Buenos Aires, Lisbon and there you will have a feast for your eyes while they feast on our rubbish.
Our own city provides mainly for herring gulls, lesser blackbacks and greater black backs in the winter months. A lot of them go down to Pagham Harbour for a clean-up.
The smaller gulls of Sussex, the black geaded and common gulls wash their plumage in Fishbourne Creek.
