Hundreds of pieces on show at Battle and District Art Show
The judges faced a tough task of picking their favourites from the eclectic selection of watercolours, pastels, prints and acrylics which adorned the hall walls.
The Presidents Award went to Chris Harding for his acrylic painting ‘The Tale of the Ancient Mariner’ whilst the Judges Postcards Award went to Tracey Brown for her watercolour ‘Eclectic Bexhill’.

Hide AdAfter much deliberation, the Battle Observer Award went to Rosalind McNeil for her acrylic painting ‘Shorescape’, the Sussex Framing Centre Award was presented to Christine Rothschild for her watercolour ‘Valley No 1’, Christopher O’Brian received the Battle Interiors Award for his watercolour ‘Hastings Memorial Area’, the Expressions Art Shop Award went to Rosemary Drysdale for her silk screen print ‘Storm at Cuckmere Estuary’ and Janet Redden took home the
Pictures and Frames of Horam Award for her pastel portrait ‘Freda’.
The show opened to the public on Wednesday and the exhibition will continue daily until 5pm on August 4.
All work on display will be offered for sale and this year an original painting by Mark Fisher will be the prize in a special raffle supporting St Michael’s Hospice and Sussex Air Ambulance Service.
Admission to the exhibition is free.
