This year’s Ardingly Vintage and Classic Vehicle Show, which has been held for decades on the South of England showground, has been cancelled for financial reasons.
Car enthusiast and regular attender of the show Richard Bunning, was so disappointed at the news he has taken matters into his own hands.

He said: “It’s open to all sorts of classic cars from Morris Minors to vintage Rolls Royces. We had it in a very small scale last year and we are hoping to make it a bit bigger this year. People love to see the old cars against the backdrop of the old house. It’s a wonderful setting. It should be a good day out.”
Horsham Historics Preservations Society had organised the Ardingly show for 26 years and before that the Southern Counties Historic Preservation Trust ran it for 15 years.
Former organiser Brian Carter said: “The show had good support from exhibitors. Some had been going to that site for 40 years.

“It’s organised by club members and we couldn’t afford the money any more.
“We are still an active club. I wish Rowfant every success. There are other shows in the area; we lost the Lindfield show this year as well.”
