LETTER: How can garden waste charge be justified?

After three letters l was eventually telephoned by a local councillor to ask what my problem was.
I asked how the council could justify such a significant increase, well above inflation?

Hide AdI was informed that a Cabinet member had put forward an arbitrary figure and this had been approved, apparently without anyone realizing the significance or size of the increase!
How out of touch can get!
The councillor to whom I spoke just could not understand how I , alone, had the temerity to question this enormous increase and could do simple arithmetic!! I just couldn’t get through to him!!
Do all district council decisions get made this way?
