‘Horsham pop-up cycle lane is a step in the right direction’
The Covid-19 crisis is a symptom of the way we are trashing the planet and driving our cars without considering alternatives is contributing to this.
At least if we have wide cycle lanes we’re more likely to jump on our bikes as they do in cities like Amsterdam and Cambridge, where safe cycling has been the norm for decades.

Hide AdIt’s not perfect, but these are not perfect circumstances. At this stage, it’s an encouragement, a step in the right direction.
Soon it may be a necessity as more and more of us are not able to afford petrol. Maybe the government should finally begin to tax aviation fuel so the true cost of flying becomes clearer?
That would be another very easy step for them towards reducing our impact and would raise funds while treating the deeper cause of the Covids – our lack of awareness of the inter-relatedness of things.
