Horsham pupil has poetry published
Philippa has been a keen writer from an early age. She said: “I have always been stimulated by global events and what’s happening in the news. I wrote my first poem at the age of five.”
The publishing company commissioned Philippa to write 70 poems, including her winning entry, Poem for Peace, so they could publish an anthology of her work.

Miss Sue Kelly, an assistant head and English teacher at Millais School, added: “Pippa is a talented writer who, throughout the entire GCSE course, showed great ability to craft and manipulate language to engage her reader. I remember her having a particular interest in poetry which was a significant part of the course – and researching different metrical feet which she shared with us as a class.
“I too have a passion for poetry and enjoyed many hours with the class exploring interpretations to the language, structure and layout of poems.
“For that reason I am delighted that Pippa has had the opportunity to share her own passion and talent through her published work. I am thrilled with her success.”
