Passengers back Govia for new rail franchise
The West Sussex Rail Users' Group said it considered the company's Southern subsidiary was the best placed to provide services up and down the Arun Valley line and along the coastway.
The franchise for the Southern network is up for grabs from this September. Four contenders '“ Govia, South West Trains, National Express and NedRail '“ have been shortlisted to take over the busy area.

Both Stagecoach and National Express have recently had problems with their existing franchises. Rail users' membership secretary Trevor Tupper said this had added to its view Govia was the best of the hopefuls in spite of its poor services earlier this year.
