Peasmarsh opens gates to its ‘Wonderland’
It was here that Charles Liddell’s niece, Alice was first told some of the stories by Lewis Carroll which were later published as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
The Great Storm of 1987 destroyed 80% of the mature parkland trees, the Third Viscount of Devenport who owned the house and grounds, set about creating an arboretum which today holds over 2.000 general and two national tree collections in ten acres of parkland.
