Organiser Peter Pearce is putting his £1.2million home by the coast up as a raffle prize in a bid to raise money for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, near Arundel, and St Barnabas House hospice in Worthing.
The draw was launched on July 20 with the help of Love Island’s Amy Hart. Tickets are just £2, with 10 per cent of the money raised going to the hospices, and the deadline is 11.59pm on Monday, August 31.

“So many people I know have been helped by the hospice or know a friend or family member who has. We need to ensure they can continue to be here for everyone who needs them.
“I know how much the hospices rely on community support but until I saw their crisis appeal, I hadn’t thought about the huge impact Covid-19 would have on their fundraising income.

So, I’ve decided to make an early donation of £10,000, with the remaining amount to be finalised when the draw closes.”
The draw offers people the chance to win Painter’s Keep, Peter’s distinctive four-bedroom house in Seaview Avenue, Kingston Gorse. Built in 1925, it was the estate’s water tower and was converted to a dwelling in 1955.
Providing a minimum of 750,000 tickets are sold, someone will win the house. If not, a cash prize will be offered, based on 80 per cent of net sales.
Sarah Colbourne, head of fundraising at St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House said: “When the coronavirus crisis struck, our monthly fundraising income plummeted by 70 per cent due to events being cancelled and the closure of our shops.

“This £10,000 early donation will be a great help, and we’d like to thank everyone for their support.”
