Protest on St Leonards scaffolding ends after ten hours

Specialist police officers were called to St Leonards to ensure a man who was protesting on scaffolding was safe.

Police attended Athlone Court, Marina, St Leonards, at 7.30am on Tuesday (September 1).

Specialist officers were sent to ensure the man was safe, police said.

He came down off the scaffolding of his own accord ten hours later at 5.30pm, police added.

A police spokesman said: "There were no offences and no police action."

The man said he was protesting 'peacefully' against builders he claimed were damaging his property.
