Rotary spirits not dampened by downpours
ORGANISERS of this year’s Worthing Rotary Carnival have deemed the event a success, despite torrential rain battering Worthing on Monday.
The annual event is long-established in the town, and aims to bring together the community.

Dressed as pirates and fronted by Captain Jack Sparrow, the group managed to keep dancing right until the end of the carnival, even though they were soaked to the skin.
Parade organiser John Rogers said: “The weather was absolutely horrendous all day but I thought that considering that, everyone made a brilliant effort and although we had four floats and a couple of walking groups drop out, the majority of people turned up.
“This event takes ten months to organise which is why we did not want to cancel.”
