ARMISTICE CONCERT: In this 100th year of remembering the end of WW1, the 120 voices of Cranbrook Choral Society and Paddock Wood Choral Society with Cranbrook Sinfonia will be performing an Armistice Concert to include Karl Jenkins THE ARMED MAN: A Mass for Peace,Five Negro spirituals from A Child of Our Time - Sir Michael Tippett,Serenade for Strings - Sir Edward Elgar. This will take place at St. Dunstan’s Church, Cranbrook on Saturday November 17 at 7.30 p.m. Tickets: £15 (£7.50 for students) available: Online: cranbrookchoral.org.uk or pwcs.weebly.com. WHERE HAVE ALL THE BASSES GONE?: There is a new choir in the area, The Whatlington Singers , a newly formed mixed choir. They enjoy singing different styles of music from classical to popular. They are looking to increase our bass section so if you can read music, or have sung in a choir, they would love to hear from you. They meet on Monday evenings in Whatlington Church. Thomasin Trezise makes a welcome return to perform a Christmas concert including some light Neapolitan songs and carols with some audience participation to accordion accompaniment in our beautiful historic Parish church. SEDLESCOMBE SCHOOL PTA: The School PTA have taken on the mammoth task of trying to raise £50,000 to have the sports area resurfaced. You may have seen their photo here in the Battle Observer a week or so ago taking part in the Dragon race at Bewl Water. They also have a GoFundMe page for donations. One of their next fundraising events will be their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday December 1 from 12 until 3pm. Make that a date in your diary to support your local school. More details nearer the time.
