Tesco applications approved for new Horsham store
Horsham District Council’s Development Control North Committee were debating five applications for the former Silver Wok site in Brighton Road on Tuesday night.
Despite some local residents objecting to the store, the council approved erection of a canopy, minor external alterations, signage, air conditioning units, and revised vehicular access.

Speakers suggested that the new store may be open as soon as August or September.
The applications were deferred in June by the committee due to a lack of information, and a chance to investigate an Article Four Direction.
However local member Godfrey Newman (LDem, Forest) accepted the officers’ report which laid out the reasons that HDC could not remove permitted development rights in this case.
