Major road left partially blocked following collision between Eastbourne and Bexhill

A major road has been left partially blocked and queuing traffic has been seen following a collision between Eastbourne and Bexhill, the AA has said.

The AA said it first received a report about the two-vehicle collision on the A259 by The Lamb Inn pub near Hooe at around 4.15pm on Saturday, February 4.

An AA spokesperson added: “One of the cars has gone into the bush and the other has overturned. Police [are] directing traffic.”

Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been pictured by the incident.

A spokesperson from the fire service said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.09pm to a road traffic collision on Top Road, Hooe. Firefighters from Bexhill and Eastbourne used an electric saw, hydrolic cutters, hydraulic spreaders and one small cutting gear to release a casualty from their car.

"There are reports of one casualty who was left in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service. Police were also in attendance.”

Police said with no injuries were reported.
