Seagull rescues and car crash attended by West Sussex firefighters
Wednesday, May 16, 12.21pm to 12.50pm:
Edgehill Close, Durrington – seagull stuck in netting on roof of property. Assistance requested by RSPCA. The bird was rescued by firefighters from Worthing and handed over to RSPCA.
Wednesday, May 16, 3.17pm to 3.33pm:
Waitrose car park, Worthing High Street – one car stuck on a metal post. No-one trapped, car removed from post using electric saw. Scene made safe by firefighters from Worthing and handed over to polcie.

Hide AdKetch Road, Littlehampton – seagull stuck in netting. Rescued by firefighters from Littlehampton and handed over to the RSPCA.
Wednesday, May 16, 9.40pm to 8.19am on Thursday, May 17:
Graylingwell Social Club, Palmers Field Avenue, Chichester – fire in derelict building. Well alight on arrival of crews. Fifty per cent of the building destroyed by fire. Remainder damaged by heat, smoke and water. Crews from Chichester, Bognor, Worthing and Selsey at the scene. Crews remained at the scene overnight, scaled down to one crew at 1.30am.
