United send condolences to Jeremy
The leader of Hastings Borough Council passed away yesterday (Wednesday) having been rushed to hospital last Friday. He was seriously ill and in a coma.
A club statement said: “The directors of Hastings United Football Club send their sincere condolences to the family of Jeremy Birch following his sudden death.

Hide Ad“Jeremy was a regular supporter at The Pilot Field, and supported the team at both Harrogate and Middlesbrough in their FA Cup run (during the 2012/13 season). Whatever political persuasion you are, Jeremy did a tremendous lot for Hastings.”
United narrowly avoided relegation from Ryman Football League Division One South during the recently-concluded season and are now on the hunt for a new manager having decided not to continue with Nigel Kane for next term.
